Only  Enthronment  Of  Justice  Can  Stop  Boko  Haram ---- Eskor  Toyo

As Nigeria’s security agencies continue to ponder the best way practicable to curtail the problems of insecurity in the land,World renowned Professor of Economics, Eskor Toyo, has advised the Nigerian Government to embrace the practice of justice in its totality, as away of putting a permanent end to ethno-religious crisis such as the one being currently wagged by the Boko Haram sect in the Northern parts of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory[FCT], Abuja.
The eminent Professor who disclosed this during a press conference he addressed at the NUJ Abuja Council] Press Centre, Utako, last week, displayed his displeasure with the bellicose approach of the Federal Government in tackling crisis of this nature.

According to him, ’’fundamentalists are only fighting the war they used to fight those days in Europe and that can not be ended by arresting them. It can only be ended by the complete enthronement of justice in our national life, not when boys take up arms, here in the in the North, or when they take up arms in the Niger Delta, you go there and start fighting them. It is rubbish. Let them do justice’’.

He insisted that there is no use struggling to protect injustice or the interest of those who perpetuate injustice in Nigeria. Rather such persons should be fought and exposed. ’’You Nigerians always talk of stability, stability, stability. But you can not stabilize injustice. In fact, injustice should be destabilized. Go and tell them that Eskor Toyo said so’’.
He added that ‘injustice should be destabilized by people who want justice, by people who can fight for justice, by people who want to die for justice’’. He pointed out that history the World over, is replete with accounts of how those who stood for justice were treated by leaders as rebels and killed.
In his words, ’’Jesus Christ was a communist and rebel. That is why they killed him. The Prophet Mohammed was a communist and a rebel, that is why they chased him away. They wanted to kill him, he ran to the Albysiania and then to Mecca. They wanted to kill him because he was a communist and a rebel. I want every Christian to know that. I want every Muslim to know that’’.

Eskor Toyo said the Boko Haram sect was given a bad label by those who were uncomfortable by the change they were preaching. He charged rather, that it is the Government that is Boko and should be Haramed. ‘’The explanation of government was that Boko Haram was against Western education but I did a little research to find out the meaning of Boko and then Haram because l don’t speak Hausa or Arabic and l find out that Boko means fraud, something that is not real but that is presented as real--- so l translate Boko Haram to mean falsity, something that is prohibited. Hypocrisy is prohibited’’.

Continuing, he said, ’’now concerning the boys who organized Boko Haram, the Army arrested their leader, Mohammed Yusuf,and turned him over to the Police and the police killed that boy. The Government is Boko and should be Haramed, prohibited so that boys like these ones could have jobs. That boy[Yusuf] had no job, then the Army will come and arrest him, for what? Then they turned him over to the police and he is killed’’.
On the 2011 general elections, Toyo wrote it off as a sham, taking a swipe on the foreign observers who certified the elections free and fair. According to him,’’by the way, the idea of foreign observers, it is rubbish. Why don’t they elections in the United States of America. They[Nigerian leaders]are slaves of the US. He spared neither President Goodluck Jonathan, nor the ruling Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], describing both as agents of the USA.

’’When oil was discovered in Liberia, they maneuvered to throw out the man there so as to dominate the place. Now that oil has been discovered in Ghana, they are maneuvering to throw out people there and plant their own people. That is what are doing in Nigeria, that is what they are doing here before Jonathan’s election or soon after all of them arrived. That man [Jonathan], is an agent of the USA’’, he said.
