PDP uses Ambulance to Convey Arms in Ebonyi State

-PDP thug kills himself with own gun

Written by  Ben-Bright Mkpuma, Abuja

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), having realised that electoral defeat await them, following their total rejection by Ebonyi electorates have leashed terror and intimidation, on the same  people they are asking for their votes.

Governor Martin Elechi with his abysmal performance and dictatorial tendencies in attending to the affairs of the state, with his Kitchen cabinet has perfected act terror, in a desperate bid to return to the government House.

Before the botched National Assembly elections last week, the state has been witnessing serial killings , the political killing in the state has now taken a new dimension.  A government House source disclosed that Governor Elechi had earlier directed the entire  local government council chairman, to purchase one ambulance each.  The 13 ambulances, which are supposed to be kept with hospital management, in case of emergency situation are being used in conveying weapons.

On the botched election day, an eye witness narrated how the Youths were used freely with arms, against their opponents, mainly the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) and the APGA. The state commissioner of health, Dr Sunday Nwangele was caught by the security agents, while distributing arms and ammunition in an ambulance. The security agents trailed his sponsors to Abuja based business magnet and major contractor in the state, of Abakaliki extraction.

According to the sources, in Ezza, the killer squad is led by the local government chairman, Mr. Laz Ogbe, Mr. Joe Egede, a coordinator in of the development centres, Mr. Tobasi Okwuru, the barely literate preferred  PDP candidate of  the governor for House of  Representatives. His certificate is said to be suspicious.

An eye witness further disclosed that at the final campaign rally of the governor, Mr. Joe Egede brought a larger size of a bag, popularly known as “Ghana Must Go”, fully loaded with guns, and openly display it, in an open field, where people at the rally scrambled for it. One of the beneficiaries, who is also a PDP thug later killed himself with his own guns, due to ignorance about its usage where he was drinking with friends.

Another ugly incident occurred at Idembia, in Ezza South, where four young men led a top PDP official, attacked opposition party members, at a meeting, said the witness.  It was also learnt that Mr. Laz  Ogbeh, on the botched election day moved in a convoy of armed soldiers,  to all  the  polling booths, in his Amagu-Amaezekwe ward, where the Soldiers beat up opposition  party members and elderly  voters.

Contrary  to guidelines on the movement of  security personnel from polling booths, to polling booths,  it was gathered  that  on the day of the election, the minister, Prof. Onyebuchi, moved around in the company of security men, who did not only beat and molested electorates, but openly shared  N500 each to every electorates, urging them to vote for PDP.  Similarly,   the deputy of the state, Prof. Chigozie  Ogbu went o his Onicha Local government council, with armed security men who beat up the voters.

Investigation tends to suggest that the police in the state were everything, but impartial, especial during the tenure of last police commissioner.
